FAQ

Disclaimer: All information provided is for general guidance only. Clients are responsible for their own health decisions and aftercare. Results may vary based on individual skin types and care routines.

Q: What ingredients are in your homemade henna paste?

Our henna paste is handcrafted using natural henna powder, lemon juice, sugar, and skin-safe essential oils such as Eucalyptus or Lavender. We do not use black henna that contains PPD, nor do we use “emergency” or instant henna cones; However, we advise all clients to consult with their doctor or dermatologist if they have allergies or skin sensitivities.

Q: How should I prep for my appointment?

Please arrive with clean skin. The use of lotions, oils, or other body products prior to service may prevent the henna from adhering properly and can affect the quality of the stain. It is also recommended to remove any body hair on the area you plan to get your design on.

How long should I leave the paste on?

The longer the paste stays on, the darker the resulting stain is likely to be. We recommend leaving the paste on overnight, if possible. If that’s not practical, a minimum of 5 hours is suggested.

Many clients choose to seal the paste with a lemon-sugar mixture or secure it with medical tape to help it stay in place longer. Do not use a plastic glove or any plastic cover as this will reactivate the henna causing your design to be smudged.

Final results will vary from person to person.

How do I take care of my henna afterward?

After removing the dried paste (by scraping, not washing), avoid water and soap on the area for at least 24 hours. Use natural oils such as coconut or olive oil to protect and enhance the stain.
Aftercare kits are included with all bridal appointments. Additional aftercare kits are available for purchase.
Please note: henna aftercare is the responsibility of the client. Results may vary depending on skin type, location of the design, and post-care routine.

Q: What color will the henna stain be?

Natural henna typically stains a deep orange to reddish-brown, depending on individual skin tone and how well aftercare instructions are followed. The stain darkens over 24 to 48 hours.

Q: Can I get henna during pregnancy?

Many pregnant clients choose natural henna made with lavender essential oil, which is generally considered a gentler option. However, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider prior to application during pregnancy or if you have any medical concerns.

Q: Do you take custom design requests?

Yes, we welcome custom design requests! Clients are encouraged to send inspiration images prior to their appointment. However, we try to not replicate other artists’ copyrighted work exactly.

Q: Can I swim or shower with henna?

To achieve the deepest, longest-lasting stain, we recommend avoiding swimming (especially in chlorinated pools) until after your special event. For showering within the first 24–48 hours after paste removal, we suggest protecting the design using a plastic covering or waterproof wrap to help preserve the stain. Prolonged exposure to water may cause the stain to fade more quickly.
